Come and join us in a life time experience as we sail over to our sister island of Lanzarote, while relaxing and taking in the sea breeze as we sail across the ocean passing the island of Lobos until we reach our destination of Playa Blanca, this is where the fun will begin as you will be met by your professional English speaking guide who will take excellent care in making your day so enjoyable and memorable.
You will then head to the beautiful bay of El Golfo, where the Olivin stone was discovered. You will see the rugged coastline of Los Hervideros and the salt flats of Janubio, where you will learn about the importance of salt extraction in the island’s history.
As we make our way towards Timanfaya National Park, home to Fire Mountain. Here you will see the geothermal experiments, demonstrating the immense power of the heat just below the surface. You will have time look around the natural oven, where food is still cooked today, before the coach takes you on the magnificent crater tour around the national park to experience the best views and history of the lava fields.
A tasty, three-course lunch is enjoyed in a typical Canarian restaurant, before journeying through to La Geria, homed to the most unusual wine vineyards in the world, it is here you have the opportunity to learn about the history and to taste and try the unique flavours and textures of the different wines that are available.
Passing the monument Al Campesino, in the centre of the island, we head northbound, though Teguise, the ancient capital, arriving at the highest point, Peñas del Chache (670m). From this viewpoint, you will be able to take photos of the north-east coastline and Haria, the valley of 1000 palms. Through the winding roads we make our way to the mirador of Guinate, another spectacular viewpoint. This looks out onto the Chinijo Islands; Alegranza, Montaña Clara and La Graciosa.
Our visit to Los Jameos del Agua is a great end to the day. As here you will find the gifted work of Cesar Manrique. From the underground caves, featuring a mysterious salt lake, which is homed to the tiny albino crabs and transparent waters, to enchanting subterranean gardens and spiral staircases made form natural volcanic rock, these views and unbelievable experiences will leave perfect memories of your day in Lanzarote, as we head back to Playa Blanca for our return ferry to Fuerteventura.
